John Paul is a junior doctor with a background in construction, and has seen the results of our failed financial regulators and now our failed healthcare system, where workers fight every day for their patients in a system that is chronically mismanaged, understaffed and failing to adapt to modern technology, leaving patients - including children and the disabled - behind, despite massive spending.
He is also a renter and a volunteer with the Simon community where he's seen firsthand the harms done by the neoliberal, corrupt housing ministry over the last 14 years, increasing homelessness from 3000 to 14000 despite over 1 billion being unspent by the dept in recent years. And that’s not to speak of the 500,000 living at home because the landlord government’s subservience to international investors, selling our population as the best renters in the world.
